Nice to Meet You

Hello. My name is Shareen Galsgaard, Founder & CEO of Djuuno Activities.

I have received a lot of questions from parents, interested in understanding why I started Djuuno and what Djuuno is all about. 

​

 Djuuno began two years ago when I began to notice my oldest son's interest in Math and Science. He would spend his Saturday   as Sunday morning activities with my oldest son at home. Our activities would stem from questions he would raise on things he didn't understand while watching his Science shows. As a Business Research and Economics graduate, I must admit I enjoy the research but quickly learned, it is one thing to understand a concept as an adult, it is a whole other thing to explain it to a child in a way that they will understand. I realized I needed help. I began reaching out to educators I knew to assist me in simplifying ideas and coming up with ways to help my son understand something, without me simply telling him the answer.  

 

Today, very little has changed in the process of creating our activities.

1. Every activity still stems from questions I receive from children attending our monthly activities.

2. All activities are researched and pre-approved by educators in Sweden.

3. Our events are still hosted on Sundays.

 

My son and I still do our educational Sunday activities but now we share the learning experience with other children interested in spending their Sunday with Djuuno.
